QUICK GUIDE TO GETTING STARTED WITH WEBSTUDY

1. First of all go to http://harcum.webstudy.com .  You'll arrive at a page just like the one above.  You will notice that there is a section on this page explaining that "YOUR LOGON MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE DAY YOUR COURSE STARTS".

Your username and password consist of your first initial, last name, and last four digits of your student ID.

Example for Mary Smith (student # 000-04-5555):

User name =    msmith5555
Password =     msmith5555 

Type your username and password into the boxes on screen, and either press ENTER, or click the little green box (with the arrow in it) next to the password field to continue onto step 2.
 

2.  Once you have logged in with your supplied User Name and Password, you'll see a page with your personal details.  The next step is to select which of your courses you want to work on.

3. In the TOP RIGHT hand corner it says SELECT A COURSE.  From there you can choose from all of your current courses by clicking the selection in the menu that appears.  If for some reason your computer doesn't go straight to the course, just click the arrows beside the menu to make it continue.

4. Now you are at the ABOUT page of the course you selected.  Be sure to read all of this page, as your instructor will have placed important information about the course.  Once you have read this page, you can click on the TIMELINE tab in the upper right corner.   This is the complete course with all the work you are required to complete, as well as tests, forums, and any other media related to completing the course.  The timeline is where you will spend a lot of your time when using the Webstudy system.

5.  This is an example of the timeline.  Be sure to read all the items on YOUR timeline carefully.  This information is put there by your instructor, for you to be able to complete your course.  There are multiple sessions contained in this one view.  As you can see in the example above session 1 is showing, but you would have to scroll further down the page to see subsequent sessions.

TIPS

If you get lost and are not sure what you are looking at, simply go back to the top of the screen, make sure the course you want to be looking at is selected, and then click on the TIMELINE tab.  This will bring you back to where the most information about your course, is available.

There is always a HELP icon at the bottom of the screen.
